An application filed on the 19th was approved on the 27th, eight days later. The case was a change from visitor status to a study permit from inside Canada, and the write-up notes it was completed without biometrics.
The client was admitted to Coquitlam College, which the Korean text describes as founded in 1982, located about thirty minutes from downtown Vancouver, with around 1,200 students, intakes in January, May and September, classes of fewer than twenty students, and dedicated counsellors for international students.
The college is described as offering two-year diploma, associate degree and university transfer programs on a three-term year, with more than 100 course offerings each term, and tuition up to 50 percent lower than most Canadian universities. It draws between 1,000 and 1,500 students each term from more than twenty countries.
The write-up notes that the college is registered as a private institution but is nationally recognised, so graduates can obtain a post-graduation work permit of between one and three years.
